From drone scans to defects-on-a-map for remediation, SenseHawk helps complete inspection at the 2-GW site within 22 days
The leading Asian EPC, constructing a record-breaking 2 GW single-site solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant in the Middle East, seeks to efficiently conduct pre-commissioning tests to identify and remediate defects to get the site in optimal operating condition for the commercial launch dates.
Using SenseHawk Therm, the defect management solution powered by the SenseHawk Digitization Platform (SDP), the EPC completes the testing, defect identification, and prioritization in a record 22 days.
SenseHawk Therm is designed to optimize the performance of solar assets through accelerated defect remediation. Therm integrates aerial surveillance, AI/ML-driven data analytics, and work management to speed up defect detection, classification, prioritization, and remediation.
Aerial surveys of the site are conducted using infrared (IR) sensor-equipped drones. AI-powered analytics is applied to the thermal imagery to detect and classify defects, which are visualized on the interactive site map on the SDP.
Site crews then use the fieldworker-friendly mobile app to view and address the geo-located tasks assigned to them. The map-powered interface enables direct navigation to the issue. Workers access checklists, forms, shared files, and contextual messaging, as well as automated progress updates to close the job and report tasks' status along with media attachments.
Proceeding at speed, the EPC is able to create a punchlist of defects, going from drone scans to defects-on-a-map for remediation within 22 days.
